Who is this person?

A good question. Who are we all? Descriptions are always incomplete.

Who I Am

Most people describe themselves using their occupations, but that's merely what they do. The first thing we verbally associate with ourselves is our names.

What I Like

My interests and hobbies include: writing, anime, manga, computers (including neural networks and robotics), electric guitar, science fiction, role-playing games, technology, philosophy, physics (well, okay, science in general), sociology, neuroscience, biochemistry, biotech, bioinformatics, comics, history, archeology, psychology, mythology, social networks, organizations, and various combinations and permutations of the above.

What I Do

I think. Really. Due to circumstance, I entered elementary school at age 5. I skipped Grade 12 before entering university. I have a B.Sc. in physics (with a computing minor) from UPEI and a master's degree in computer science (well, it's technically an M.Math.) from the University of Waterloo, specializing in computer graphics. You can check out the Computer Graphics Lab at UW or read my thesis abstract; you can also download it in zipped postscript format or as a PDF. My supervisor for my Master's degree was Bill Cowan.

I partially completed a Ph.D. before the grant money ran out; I then entered the workplace (or the "real world", as some mistakenly call it). I ended up in Toronto in my pursuit of a career. I'm still determining what my calling is, and what to do about it; too many interests and not enough time and resources.
